Mizuno's new 223 Steel Iron set sits between the 221 and 225 sets. This set combines the distinct feel of the 221 but with the playability of the forgiving 225. The 223 is aimed at accomplished players who want the look, control and feel of a blade but with extra distance. This set is crafted and designed for the modern golfer, featuring the legendary Hiroshima grain-flow forging and soft copper underlay with Tour-proven flowing sculpting. The subtle flowing lines and styling will be appreciated by all, with the 'Mizuno Pro ' italic style script looking the part in black.
With the finest details being met, the new 223 meets all the demands of Mizuno staff players with its player shaping. The profile is more compact than its impressive predecessor the MP-20 MMC, more notably in the scoring irons, a versatile yet extremely appealing aesthetic at the address position. This impressive set features two make-ups, the 4 to 7 irons benefit from a forged Chromoly construction with the companies' Flow Microslot Technology to give distance firepower in those lower irons. This high-strength material used by Mizuno enables the engineers to keep the face thinner for added flex and ball speed at impact. Precise centre of gravity placement gives all the forgiveness possible whilst shots struck low on the face are still met with incredible launch and stability.
The short irons are built for ultimate scoring, using the purest 1025E carbon steel construction for a butter-like feel at impact. Allied with Mizuno's signature grain-flow forging HD process, this gives the impact sound we all associate with Mizuno. The centre of gravity is also progressively higher in the scoring irons (8 to PW) for a lower and more controllable trajectory with high spin for drop and stop playability. Every iron features precisely bevelled back edges, to accommodate the Microslots and to give unmatched turf interaction for the ultimate striking experience. Built for distance but sized for Tour.
