The new TaylorMade Stealth 2 Drivers are now with us and a full year has flown by since the original driver was launched. The 2nd edition of this driver gives the most up-to-date technology on offer right now and still gives that Stealth look with a touch more red detail to make it look visually supreme. This is a mid-high Launching driver with mid-low spin and a neutral spin bias to fire drives off the tee box like frozen rope. The Stealth 2 driver caters to both right handed and left handed golfers and comes in three standard loft options of 9º, 10.5º and 12º. The maximum allowed head volume of 460cc is gives all the confidence to stripe a ball with a fast swing. The total length is 45.75’’ inches. The swing weight in all 3 options is D4/D5 for the most technically minded. Custom options are available, the D4/D5 swing weights represent stock build.
As with the original, the Stealth 2 looks heavenly, that stealth black and deep red face with extra red detailing around the sole is aesthetically perfect. The white font looks futuristic on the underside and with the white ''60X Carbon Twist Face'' written at the bottom of the face you get an exquisite all-round visual fit for a king. Golfers of all levels will benefit from the incorporated technologies in the Stealth 2 driver. The likes of Rory, Tiger, Sergio and Rambo to name just a few, will be gaming this driver in 2023. Why not join them?
The latest face structure attached to Stealth 2 is engineered to retain ball speed on those inevitable hits that come from the low heel or high toe from time to time. TaylorMade’s 60X layer carbon twist face is 44% lighter than a standard titanium face, whilst being 11% larger than the company's own SIM2 and SIM2 Max drivers. The distance and forgiveness is achieved by using sixty layers of carbon fibre to perfectly optimise energy transfer and give consistent ball speeds regardless of where the ball is hit from the face. The new 60X Carbon Twist Face is wrapped by a durable polyurethane cover which features pioneering nanotexture technology. The nanotexture cover fine-tunes launch and spin for consistent long-distance drives in all weather conditions. TaylorMade’s own testing shows the new stealth 2 face gives 1.4 mph faster speeds over the original Stealth. And as we know as golfers, every little helps us get further down the fairway.
The 2g weight saved in the face is then placed low and deep in the head, giving improved moment of inertia. The Inertia Generator continues to be the primary source of refined aerodynamics, tested in state-of-the art-wind tunnels and various other clever methods to give a rapid swinging head that is optimised for the best possible downswing speeds. The Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ has also seen a slight but significant improvement over the original, giving that all-important forgiveness when the ball comes off the face low. The Fujikura Ventus Red standard shaft fits into the colour scheme perfectly are of course optimised through many painstaking hours to optimise performance. The Stealth 2 driver is fitted with the Golf Pride Z-Grip Plus 2 grip (52g) 0.600 round in black/red to match the face/sole colours.
