One of the first things you'll notice with the HD Irons is the Cap Back design. It utilises high-strength stainless steel and a combination of polymers. This design will help you get the most distance out of these irons, creating a high launch and high forgiveness due to the low CG in the heads. The Cap Back also gives them a confidence-inspiring look down by the ball, making sure there's no hesitation before approaching the green.
Another point about the new Stealth HD heads is the shallow, low-profile faces. This isn't just to make them look great, it also helps to keep the CG really low. Once again this low CG is what gives the irons their high launch and exceptional distance, whilst also adding lots of forgiveness.
These irons sound great when hit. And lots of that is down to the ECHO Damping system which has been installed in the head. This system makes use of a polymer blend as well as lots of contact points across the face. This then helps to channel harsh vibrations away from the club head. Not only do they sound great, but this tech helps create a softer, forged-like feel.
As has been a staple for the last few iterations of clubs for TM. These irons come with the famed Thru-Slot Speed Pocket! The Patented TaylorMade technology maximises face flexibility. These flexible, thin faces allow for incredible ball speed, as well as maximum forgiveness making sure no long iron shot is too daunting. The speed pocket is also there to aid you when you mis-strike the ball. Shots that come off the face too low will still fly through the air, almost as well as a pure strike, giving you the best opportunity to hit your targets!
