2020 has begun and that only means one thing for us avid golf fans… the release of new golf drivers coming out from our favourite golf brands! Here we have rounded up some of the highly-anticipated new golf drivers of 2020 with some key information, price, pre-order dates and release dates.

What’s new for 2020?

Callaway: Mavrik range

Introducing the Mavrik range by Callaway, their brand-new collection of golf drivers for 2020, rumoured to be replacing the Rogue range from 2018. There are three new golf drivers in the new set, which are said to be more optimised to player traits more than ever before.

The collection includes the following:

What’s different about these new golf drivers for 2020?

The new range of golf drivers are shown to use next-level artificial intelligence, which builds on the success of Callaway’s 2019 launch of “Epic Flash” clubs. The clever use of AI has allowed Callaway to delve deeper and ask more questions to ensure the clubs work perfectly for just about any golfer. In fact, the use of AI has created a driver that helps to factor in the swing traits of players likely to use each model, ensuring it works for everyone.

Alike other Callaway clubs, the drivers feature some familiar tech such as two internal Jailbreak bars which connect the sole and crown for create fast ball speeds. The construction of a lighter carbon crown allows Callaway to redistribute weight for a higher Moment of Inertia (MOI). It’s worth noting that the Mavrik drivers have a lower MOI than Epic Flash drivers, but the new range of Mavrik clubs are surprisingly 13% more accurate!

Each driver comes in varying lofts to suit different playing styles and abilities. The Callaway Mavrik driver and Sub Zero driver are available in either a 9° or 10.5° loft, whereas the Max driver is available in three loft options: 9° / 10.5° / 12°.

Features of the Callaway Mavrik drivers include:

  • Left- or right-hand options
  • Available in different flex: Stiff and regular
  • 460cc head size (460cc for Sub Zero)
  • New AI-designed Flash Face technology
  • High strength FS2S titanium on the face

Cobra: Speedzone range

Last year Cobra stepped up their game with the launch of their King F9 speedback driver, but Cobra have stepped up their game once more to bring you the Speedzone range for 2020. The range features two different style of driver: Speedzone and Speedzone extreme.

The Cobra Speedzone collection features the following:

What’s the difference between Speedzone and Speedzone Extreme?

Put simply, the Speedzone drivers come in a traditional shape with Centre of Gravity adjustability, to customise your club to make it work for you. This is perfect for golfer’s who like to work the ball and fine tune launch and spin without sacrificing forgiveness.

On the other hand, Speedzone Extreme is designed to go as fast and straight as possible. This is thanks to the driver’s oversized profile with 17g of tungsten weight to create a higher MOI. If you are looking for maximum forgiveness and help with getting the ball in the air, this new driver is the model for you.

What’s different about these new golf drivers for 2020?

Cobra’s latest golf clubs benefit from all of the latest technological advancements to create the best driver of 2020. The new range features the new CNC Infinity Milled face which has been improved further from the F8 driver by now stretching around the clubs’ perimeter and across the topline. It’s this that gives Speedzone drivers exactly what their name suggests: speed.

The clubs also feature new Titanium T-bar speed chassis, in turn removing unnecessary titanium to create more discretionary weight. By saving this wright, Cobra have been able to optimise the Centre of Gravity for high launch and low spin, whilst providing high MOI for forgiveness on miss-hits.

Features of the Cobra Speedzone drivers include:

  • Left- or right-hand options
  • Available in three different lofts: 9°, 10.5° and 12°
  • Available in four different flex: Extra stiff, stiff, regular and lite
  • Custom shafts and grips available
  • 460cc head size
  • CNC infinity milled face
  • Titanium T-Bar speed chassis
  • 360 carbon wrap crown
  • Speedback weighting
  • Speedback aero shape

TaylorMade: SIM range

No more “M” clubs for TaylorMade. Introducing the brand new TaylorMade SIM range – meaning “Shape in Motion” – which features a new shape of driver performance. Their new range aims to cater for golfers of all levels and is set to be their best driver yet.

The TaylorMade SIM collection features three different types of driver, including:

What’s different about these new golf drivers for 2020?

This range of new drivers for 2020 looks unlike anything ever seen before from TaylorMade. The new golf drivers have been engineered to improve aerodynamics and include unconventional geometry to take performance to the next level. It’s these changes in the new collection that allow the driver to generate a higher clubhead speed, thus creating faster ball speed and more distance.

In the SIM range, TaylorMade have included an Inertia Generator – as seen in last year’s M6 driver – but in this collection it looks noticeably off-centre. By TaylorMade moving the Inertia Generator by around 20 degrees, it means the air moves smoothly across the sole on the downswing, helping to increase clubhead speed at the most critical stage of the swing. This is one of the major pull-factors for the TaylorMade SIM range which promises to offer incredible performance.

TaylorMade believes it has designed a driver with “no trade-offs”. The SIM clubs are fast, forgiving and promote favourable launch conditions.

Features of the TaylorMade SIM drivers include:

  • Left- or right-hand options
  • SIM drivers are available in different lofts: 8°, 9° and 10.5°
  • SIM Max and Max D are available in different lofts: 9°, 10.5° and 12°
  • Available in three different flex: Extra stiff, stiff and regular
  • 460cc head size
  • Asymmetric sole shape and Inertia Generator
  • Speed injected twist face
  • Sliding weight technology (for the SIM driver only)
  • Adjustable loft sleeve
  • Multi-material construction
  • Thru-slot speed pocket
  • Inverted cone technology
