The new 2021 version of the TP5x Pix ball as seen a few tweaks in the pursuit of perfection. The TP5x Pix has been designed with the help of Rickie Fowler who absolutely loves it. The ball has a distinct and clear pattern on it which enables it to be lined up easier on the green. The multi-colour, high contrast graphics provide a superb visual, perfect for retrieving feedback on all putts. By lining up the TM Logo or TP5x logo to the target, the markings frame the ball so there is a visible line going towards the target, so you can make sure the ball is on your line as well as your putter. The orange and black graphics are also great for making the ball easier to see through the air as well as on the floor.
New for the 2021 TP5x pix ball comes improved aerodynamics through its seamless Tour flight dimple pattern. Shallower dimples reduce drag during the balls climb to cut through the air, while steeper dimples maintain lift during descent for more drop and stop capability.
The 2021 TP5x redesign has given the ball much more speed than its predecessor, with a slightly larger Tri-Fast Core that increases the rebound effect which fires the ball even faster off the face of the club and more reactive to further increase its already incredible distance. The structure of the ball has also given TaylorMade the ability to max out the ball's distance without taking away any spin or control, something that a Tour Level ball is often unable to do. The Cover is made from urethane, which is really tough wearing whilst also being soft off the face. This cover has also been improved and rigorously tested on this year's ball to be even more durable and abrasion-resistant. Recent feedback suggested this was a part of the ball that could be improved, TaylorMade duly listened and acted.
The Speed Layer System that has been utilised in the TP5x is another way of boosting carry and roll numbers. However, it also helps to add the control and spin you need, alongside extra control in windy conditions. This system has layers that increase in stiffness throughout the ball, which is what gives the TP5x these features. The High Flex Material helps to allow the ball to compress and explode upon impact and transfer as much energy as possible, launching the ball into the air. Ricky Fowler loves this ball, so will you.
In comparison to the TP5 pix: This TP5x pix version is slightly lower spinning than the TP5 pix with the wedges, has a very slightly firmer feel and will show a slightly higher trajectory of flight in the irons compared to the TP5 pix. A few extra yards can be gained with the longer irons over the TP5 pix.
