TaylorMade’s Spider series putters need no introduction. The familiar Spider shape has been seen on Tour for nearly 20 years, used by some of the best professionals on the planet to win some of the game’s biggest prizes.
The Spider Tour V eliminates the wing structure seen in the Spider Tour and creates a more streamlined look. It is the smallest putter in the line-up, providing the most rotation. Despite this, the same True PathTM Alignment and Pure RollTM technologies remain in place. To maintain the stability famous with the brand, each Spider Tour Series putter is crafted using multi-material construction to push weight low and back in the head, providing over 700 MOI more than the previous model, creating the most stable putter ever designed by TaylorMade.
A steel wireframe construction allows weight distribution and CG location to be better controlled. In the Spider Tour V, the CG is located just 27mm from the face to ensure the perfectly smooth putting stroke, time after time. A new HYBRAR Echo® Damper recently seen in TaylorMade’s Stealth HD irons is placed directly behind the face to dampen vibrations, delivering a crisp sound and feel on every putt.
A small slant hosel promotes more of an upward stroke into the golf ball. This hosel also places the hands very slightly ahead of the ball both before and through impact. This is favoured by many golfers. The short slant design combined with the Spider Tour V’s weight distribution over a smaller profile gives 32º of toe hang for a more vertical angle. This will suit players with a moderate face rotation in their putting stroke.
