You can never go wrong with Ping, the history and technology speak for themselves. Ping also has a formidable reputation in the golf industry, time after time they produce great products. Their new 2023 G430 LST Driver is now upon us and its looks and performs stellar as always. LST stands for Low Spin Technology and is best suited to players with faster swing speeds to get a more piercing flight with maximum roll distance. There are only a few small changes to this new 2023 Ping G430 LST, however, these small changes have made a significant difference. The world’s most forgiving driver just got better.
Firstly, there is a new lightweight composite Carbonfly wrap crown into the heel and toe of the skirt to save on weight and lower the centre of gravity more speed with higher MOI (moment of inertia). Ping report that gains of between 2 and 4 mph have been made over previous models. The design is a slightly smaller 440cc shape to appeal to better players and instil confidence. The new aesthetics are also stunning, with the same matt black finish but with new silver and yellow details to freshen up the look. Those amazing-looking crown turbulators are still in place to reduce drag and improve aerodynamics.
With a new 3-position centre of gravity shifter at the back of the head you can now adjust to either draw, neutral or fade to suit your swing. Available in lofts of 9° and 10.5°the legendary Trajectory Tuning 2.0 provides a lightweight and aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions to fully customise your preferred trajectory for maximum distance and accuracy. A proprietary T9S+ forged face accelerates face flexing for more distance.
There is also a new internal rib structure to further improve sound frequencies, the sound at impact is amazing and something Ping has spent a lot of time on. Ping has also improved the curvature of the crown, skirt and sole to help get the desired sound. TheLST T9S+ forged face is of variable face thickness to deliver high ball speeds. Thanks to a unique heat-treating process, this delivers a higher-strength face area. This surface is precision machined for maximum flexing. This benefits those inevitable off-centre strikes greatly. The adjustability of the new G430 is fantastic, the hosel on the driver has 8 loft and lie settings to fine-tune ball flight.
