SPALDING

Spalding are one of the most famous names in golf, although you have to be of a certain age to truly know about the brand. Julian W Curtiss, former president of Spalding visited London to learn golf, returning with clubs and balls from which resulted in the manufacture of Spalding sports equipment.

Whichever brand you play or have played, we all owe a big thank you to one company – Spalding. At the turn of the 20th century A.G Spalding & Brothers sporting goods saw an opportunity to produce golf balls to the masses, in 1905 they became the first company to sell its own brand of golf balls.

In the early 1900s, Spalding opened club making facilities in London and Fife Scotland, producing forged irons. Spalding actually led the way with deep-groove iron designs, with models such as the waterfall and waffle face irons. In 1972, Spalding created the world's first 2-piece golf ball, this opened up possibilities for new compression to the ball and the golf industry.

Moving on to the present day, Spalding still produces high-quality balls and equipment at a competitive price point. Rest assured that the quality is still at the cutting edge of technology and provides the golfer with balls and hardware that can be relied upon in terms of performance and workmanship.
