TaylorMade Stealth-y looking new driver hits the Tour

Tiger Woods and his highly talented 12-year-old son Charlie came runners up to the formidable duo of John Daly and John Daly Jnr at last weekend's PNC pairs Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. Young golfing prodigy, Charlie Woods was seen using the ever-reliable TaylorMade SIM2 Max Driver with Tiger thankfully back in competitive action since his horrific car crash back in February 2020 looked to be gaming something a bit red!

The tasty looking driver is sure to be TaylorMade's new driver for the 2022 season. The driver looks to rock a Stealth all-black colour scheme with a distinctive deep red face which does look fantastic from any distance. The unique colour scheme is sure to get fans excited about this new arrival from TaylorMade, the familiar flowing curves look aesthetically gorgeous as you would expect from this elite golfing giant.

In terms of shaping, it resembles its two SIM predecessors, why radically change something that is obviously working? TaylorMade's Tour-proven Speed Pocket looks once again to feature in throughout the range, this ever-present Thru-Slot speed pocket is Tour-proven and designed to maximise ball speed and give additional forgiveness on strikes hit low on the face. There also appears to be a sliding heel to toe track with a 10g weight to give the player a range of shot-shaping playability, this will certainly please the TaylorMade faithful.

The sound, accuracy and distance are reported to be incredible by the fans following the Woods duo. The new drivers, the Stealth driver and Stealth Plus driver which is for the better/low handicap golfer and the one Tiger Woods was gaming over the weekend features an all-new 60X Carbon Twist Face. This 60X Carbon Twist Face must be a weight saving feature which helps create incredible ball speed (Tiger’s ball speed was over a 170+mph at times) whilst the twist face obviously provides forgiveness on those off-centre strikes.

Other companies have tinkered with these Carbon Composite faces but just not quite solving the conundrum, but we obviously trust TaylorMade implicitly to get this spot-on.

With Tiger putting the new driver into his bag so quickly, you'd think that the rest of the game's elite, Rory, Dustin Johnson, Tommy Fleetwood and Sergio wont be far behind in adding this to their arsenal

The desired ball flight will be achieved in the Stealth Plus driver by moving the 10g slider to fade or draw to give the perfect personal preference. The TaylorMade Stealth Plus Driver will also give the lowest spin of all the Stealth driver models.

TaylorMade have again used an adjustability hosel in both models to allow the golfer to fine-tune the club to sort the needs of the player.

The Stealth driver is aimed at varying skill levels and comes in 8º, 9º, 10.5º and 12º. The better player Stealth Plus comes in 8º, 9º and 10.5º with a 10g sliding track for fade/draw adjustability. Both drivers have full custom fit options with a variety of grips and shafts available. TaylorMade have also continued with their high draw range of driver with the TaylorMade Stealth HD Driver, which like its predecessors is designed to help the golfers that need help to reduce their fade

If TaylorMade follow their usual MO, these new Taylormade 2022 drivers will be followed with a choice of TaylorMade Stealth fairway, TaylorMade Stealth hybrids and TaylorMade Stealth irons to match. The new TaylorMade Stealth range will be fully custom fit able from driver through to iron. We would expect to see an official launch early in 2022, keep your eye out and wait with bated breath for this exciting range to drop on us. I'm sure we will all be paying close attention to its launch.
