TaylorMade’s Spider series putters need no introduction. The familiar Spider shape has been seen on Tour for nearly 20 years, used by some of the best professionals on the planet to win some of the game’s biggest prizes.
The Spider Tour Z is one of two new designs in the Spider Tour range and incorporates the Wing shaped back found in the Spider Tour. Like in the Spider Tour X, a Blade-like feel is promoted by moving the TSS weights forward, which promotes more face rotation. The True PathTM Alignment and Pure RollTM technologies found in all Spider Tour putters are framed by a low perimeter, which helps to provide a comfortable feeling at address.
A steel wireframe construction allows weight distribution and CG location to be better controlled. In the Spider Tour Z, the CG is located just 29mm from the face thanks to the forward weight, compared to 35mm in the Spider Tour. This adds even more forgiveness and more face rotation. A new HYBRAR Echo® Damper used in TaylorMade’s Stealth HD irons is placed directly behind the face to dampen vibrations, delivering a responsive sound and feel, putt after putt.
A small slant hosel promotes more of an upward stroke into the golf ball. This hosel also places the hands very slightly ahead of the ball both before and through impact. This is favoured by many golfers. The short slant design combined with the Spider Tour Z’s wing design provides 29º of toe hang for a more vertical angle. TaylorMade’s most stable putter to date.
