Married with a forged 1025 carbon steel body and 17-4 stainless-steel face for the optimum combined set-up. The new i59 irons will excite you with every strike, delivering precise, reliable distance and performance with every club in the set. Approximately 30g of weight has been moved from the centre of the i59 to the outer perimeter where it serves better in moment of inertia.
Toe and tip weighting as been designed in such a way as to elevate MOI (moment of inertia) and reduce the stat area to achieve a level of forgiveness that is unprecedented in a forged made iron. The innovation and engineering team at Ping spent many hours/weeks perfecting the manufacturing phase of the build, 100% inspection was observed during sole shaping, head polishing, face machining and head forging. All to give the stunning look it now is.
The face is engineered with MicroMax grooves, these grooves are positioned much closer together to give on average an extra 4 grooves to eliminate flyers in the short irons and preserve spin in the longer irons. A thinner top-line and proper offset are aesthetically pleasing looking from above, this streamlined look is preferred by more skilful players. The new Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish is now popular with Ping, used across many of the new irons and wedges. This water-repellent finish aids in consistent performance from the rough and in damp, wet conditions. The smooth, subtle flowing lines on the back of the club are well thought out and classy from any distance.
With a huge choice of custom shafts on offer, the low-launching stock steel shaft is still a great choice. The Project X LS (low spin) offers a very stable and stiff design that minimises spin, a tight, solid feel to manage even the fastest of swings.
