The new Ping i230graphite shafted irons have arrived here at Golfsupport and are jam-packed with technology to help keep you on the shorter grass and closer to the pins. With countless hours of design and research, the new i230 irons give a mesmerising strike and feel. Tyrell Hatton, David Lingmerth and Stewart Cink have all been seen gaming these stellar irons earlier this year.
The431 stainless steel body and multi-material five-piece construction give that lovely soft feel and feedback we all long for. The new i230 graphite irons deliver precise, reliable distance and performance with every club in the set. Approximately 21grams of weight has been distributed from the centre of the club to the outer perimeter where it serves to offer greater forgiveness. Both the moment of inertia (MOI) and the centre of gravity (CG) are improved significantly by the weight-saving concealed elastomer insert.
Graphite shafts look and play amazing, the lightweight construction allows greater swing speeds, which in turn gives greater distance gains. Senior golfers and players who have lost yardage for a number of reasons will greatly benefit from graphite shafts.
The look is classy as always from Ping, showing a more rounded leading edge for ample bounce and great turf ensurance. These are tour-inspired and compact blade lengths, with the 3/4/5 irons more compact than the previous i210 model. The mid/short irons are the same blade length as the Ping i210.
The precision milled face benefits from the all-new MicroMax™ grooves, these are more tightly spaced and allow more groves to be introduced, on average, 4 extra grooves are added to reduce those flyers and reduce spin in the shorter irons, whilst preserving spin in the longer irons. Micromax™ grooves are also more reliable in wet weather, giving better control throughout the set. Optimised toe and tip weighting elevate MOI (moment of inertia) achieving a level of forgiveness that will be very much appreciated by all levels of golfers.
Will suit low-to mid-handicap players.
