Description

Srixon isn’t always the first brand to come from golfers' lips when talking about iron sets, but really they should be when you weigh up the number of features they give. This is the new 2023 ZX5 MK II Graphite iron set that will undoubtedly become one of the most sought-after compact distance irons this year. A powerhouse of an iron with compact refined looks, superb feel and sound and lightweight graphite shafts to help you gain even more distance. This model slots in between the game-improvement ZX4 MK II and the player-preferred ZX7 MK II. If you are looking for the best of both worlds, this iron set will be a savvy choice.

At the address position, this is hard to fault, giving shaping, size and finish that is near perfect for any golfer to look at. The most enjoyable aspect of the ZX5 MK II is the satisfying sound and feel as the ball leaves the face, this will never grow old. The Tour V.T. Sole is tour-proven and keeps the leading edge up while it goes through the turf. This is especially effective in wetter conditions. Srixon has set the bar even higher with this near-perfect offering for 2023. Srixon’s proprietary Tour V.T Sole allows a combination of sole widths, bounce angles and notches to give smooth turf interaction anywhere on the course. The strike is consistent and solid, even if the ground is hit slightly behind the ball.

With the next-generation A. I designed MainFrame placed at the back of the face so the player gets a lovely sound and feel. Mass is positioned away from the face and into the toe and sole to lower the centre of gravity or COG. Fast, powerful and pure is what you get from this set, combining a premium forged feel with advanced ball speed and distance technology. The razor-sharp looks will appeal greatly to better players who insist on thinner toplines and narrower soles.

The ZX5 MK II features a forged multi-piece construction, namely forged SUP10 faces and forged 1020 carbon steel bodies. The face is strong yet soft feeling, increasing flex at impact for blistering speed off the face. Forged 1020 carbon steel is used to dampen any vibrations and vastly improve feel.

Srixon uses A. I intelligence in designing their irons, this allows greater possibilities in all areas of the head. The MainFrame that Srixon use gives a variable thickness pattern of the grooves, channels and cavities milled into the back side of the face. This heightens flex at impact for explosive speeds. This also repositions mass away from the face and into the toe and sole. Progressive grooves feature throughout, with the 4 to 7 irons featuring wider grooves for better long-distance strikes, and the 8 to AW (approach wedge) having deeper and closer grooves to achieve higher spin. These are everything a good player looks for and more. Overlook these at your peril.
