The profile of the iron has been reinvented and slimmed down. The top line is thinner, and the blade lengths are shorter. This is more of a tour-inspired look that the Pro's tend to prefer to see. The shorter blade lengths however have a functional purpose too. It helps to improve workability and shot shaping. Giving you more confidence to hit those curved shots around obstacles and have more control of the lofts when needed.
The Irons are now 5-Step Forged, instead of the usual 4-Step process that manufacturers tend to go for. This extra step provides the 1025 Carbon Steel irons with greater feel and softer strikes off the face. It also makes the grain more uniform in the irons. A TPU insert also finds it's way into the club, dampening the vibrations in the irons, giving better feedback and a more pleasing sound.
The CNC-enhanced undercuts allow Cobra to reposition the Centre of gravity. Moving it lower in the face helps to optimise launch conditions, and provide more forgiveness across the face. The added forgiveness means that off-centre hits should see a much-reduced drop-off in distance, so even poor hits get closer to your target.
