Description

Mizuno is a Japanese company that is obsessed with attention to detail and produces irons that give a blend of unbelievable performance, gorgeous aesthetics and of course premium materials. Mizuno now introduces Nickel Chromoly, a new material that adds a significant amount of additional speed. The engineers at Mizuno have put all their focus to feel and stopping power with these new JPX 923 Hot Metal Steel shafted irons. This Nickel Chromoly is 35% stronger than the previously used and original Hot Metal material, providing an 8% thinner face for more energy.

These irons are designed for golfers who want to hit long and gently with a comfortable feel. Perfect for the golfer with a slower swing speed. Mizuno say these are typically a good fit for mid to high handicappers, which to our mind is 10 to 20 and shooting low 80s to mid 90s. Although there are no official level definitions.

JPX stands for ‘’Japan Performance Extreme’’ and this highly successful series started life back in 2011 with the JPX 800. Further models were the 2013-825, 2015-850, 2017-900, 2019-919 and 2021-921, with the JPX EZ sandwiched in-between in 2014. Consistently bringing a new model to market every 2 years.

Mizuno’s vibration-controlling V-Chassis and deep centre of gravity (CG) mean these beauties are as enjoyable to play with and controllable with long, long distance to boot. The thin face means greater feel and feedback to the golfer and a sound that is music to the ears. The sound ribs and V-Chassis cavity design with Harmonic Impact Technology increase the rigidity of the top edge, this gives a great feel to the strike.

The longer irons have a deeper CG to make them easier to launch, gradually rising as the irons get shorter, allowing shot control and great spin.

Mizuno have studied an incredible 175,000 swings with real golfers this year! highlighting launch patterns, speed, sound and feel. The looks are second to none as always from this well-established company, flowing lines with subtle branding to give that irresistible look. These come with Kim Braly Signature steel shafts (KBS) Taper Lite Chrome Shafts and come 5 to PW (6 clubs)  coming in either regular or stiff flex steel shafts. These irons provide solid forgiveness and instil confidence.
