The most striking feature of the new TaylorMade Spider GTX small slant putter is the ultra-lightweight top plate that is hollowed out and made from premium 6061 aluminium. This makes for a more stable putting experience. The heavy stainless steel back bar accounts for a large portion of the putter’s overall mass, giving greater stability by creating a deeper centre of gravity. This design negates twisting before, during and after the stroke. The end result is a consistent putter that provides fantastic stability on off-centre strikes.
A small slant hosel promotes more of an upward stroke into the golf ball. The small slant hosel also places the hands very slightly ahead of the ball both before and through impact. This is favoured by many golfers. The short slant design combined with the GTX's extreme perimeter weighting gives 18º of toe hang for a more vertical angle. This will suit players with a moderate face rotation in their putting stroke, with the centre of gravity or CG moved closer to the face for improved face rotation.
The lightweight top plate is engineered for both a premium look and also to increased durability. This model now comes with expanded colour options. With four anodised finishes to choose from, white, black, silver or red, there will be a colourway to suit your own personal taste. This modern design uses the Tour-proven Pure Roll 2 insert for improved forward roll and consistency across the entire face. A firmer insert, manufactured of black TPU Urethane with striking silver beams at a 45º angle, is designed to further improve top spin and give consistent end-over-end roll. The optically engineered True Path™ alignment system is refined for this model and gives easy framing of the ball for precise aiming. Simple and effective.
