The ‘’Plus’’ name in Super Select Newport putters models means that it sits in between the traditional blade design and a wider flange model. We've moved on from the 2020 Special Select to the 2023 Super Select, and what an upgrade it is. Scotty Cameron of course works closely with tour professionals week in and week out, so naturally, there have been significant changes from the 2020 models. The Plus model was introduced on tour in 2022 and became an instant hit. Scotty and his team focus on one goal, producing the finest putters in the world.
As with all the new range of Newport Special Select putters, this comes with all the features of the Newport and Newport 2, including performance balance weighting and Scotty's interchangeable, customisable sole weighting. This new Super Select Newport 2 Plus model now has a revamped I-Beam plumber neck, new refined shaping, new milling techniques and improved multi-material construction. All of these new models are revamped with the company's intense and deliberate study in neck configurations. The new I-Beam neck design is straight from professional use, this precision sculpting gives a racier look than ever before.
The new dual-milled face is on another level compared to previous Scotty Cameron Newport putters. This new method takes sound, feel and feedback to even greater heights. After a deep milled pass across the putter face, a second pass levels the peaks to produce a more consistent ball/face contact. The silver mist process gives a near-permanent glare-resistant finish that looks as premium as they come. The sight line is finished in asphalt grey for a classy finishing touch.
