The brand new Cobra King Tour irons are a reinvention of the older irons of the same name. This reinvention brings in new technologies that weren't seen in the older model, as well as updated, striking looks. The King Tour features a cavity back which is designed for precise shot-making and pin-seeking accuracy. But they have also made sure these irons have a good amount of forgiveness to go with it.
The shape of the new tour irons is more compact than their meaner-looking Forged Tec family members. The thinner topline and reduced offset give a more tour-inspired look. The blade lengths have also been changed to suit the tour players' eyes. These shortened blades also add to the workability of the iron, giving you a bit more control when trying to play those not so easy to hit draws and fades around the course.
1025 Carbon Steel is moulded in a 5-step forging process. Traditionally a 4-step process is used but Cobra have added an additional step to provide even better feel off the club face. It also allows Cobra to enhance the grain structure and make the shaping even more precise. Another improvement to feel is the TPU Inserts in the clubs. They help to dampen the vibration in the club which in turn provides a much softer feel and a better sound at impact.
CNC undercuts are used in the back of each one of the irons. Weight has been repositioned and the CG has been pushed lower. This aids to the launch conditions of the irons, making sure that there is plenty of forgiveness across the face. Cobra have tried to minimse the drop off in distance you get from poor strikes with this CNC undercut. Allowing you to be more confident when hitting greens from distance.
