Description

The G-range of Ping irons has consistently been one of the best-selling clubs year upon year and the release of the new Ping G425 irons look set to see that trend continue. This iconic American brand is loved and respected by golfers the world over. The Ping guru's and the research and development team have completely redesigned the G425 iron from the ground up making it so much more than an updated G410. For the first time ever, Ping has introduced the same variable face thickness technology to the G425 irons that are found in their range of metal woods. This greatly increases flexing for measurable ball speed gains that launch shots higher and farther with the stopping power to hold greens, a rarity with most of today’s distance-minded irons. Stopping power is just as important to Ping as producing long distance, something that is often lacking from iron manufacturers in recent years.

Ping Irons are renowned for their sound and feel through impact, these irons build on that foundation to offer tactile, responsive feedback on each hit. Extensive finite element analysis was used to help develop a multi-material cavity badge that covers more of the face to damp undesirable frequencies and ensure a superb feel and pleasing sound on every strike. This 3-piece badge (aluminium, ABS material, damping tape) is placed into the rear cavity to provide a very desirable sound as the ball leaves the clubface.

In the process of creating the new face design, Ping's research and development team implemented a more compact head that sets a new standard for forgiveness for an iron of its size. While shorter heel-to-toe than the G410 model, it boasts a 3% higher MOI (moment of inertia) due to mass savings from the new face geometry that have been re-allocated to the toe and hosel weights, which expands the perimeter weighting and greatly tightens dispersion. With tighter dispersion and forgiveness on off-hits, the iron face is more compact than previous models, allowing you to frame the ball perfectly on each strike.

The simple Black and hydropearl chrome colour scheme gives the G425 its classic premium appearance. The hydropearl finish is also highly scratch and wear-resistant, helping to keep the clubs in tip-top condition for longer. The head size has been reduced from previous models and this reduced blade length will widen its appeal to different levels of golfer. The grooves in the PW, UW, SW and LW are precision-milled to ensure control and touch into and around the greens.

G425 Steel Irons come fitted with the high-performance and popular AWT 2.0 (Ascending Weight Technology) shaft as standard. With lighter weights for easy launch and clubhead speed in the long irons coupled with heavier weights in the short irons for added control, Ping guarantee optimum performance throughout the set. Standard on every G425 iron is the Arccos Caddie Smart Grip, which is custom built with an embedded sensor to automatically record and analyse every shot taken during a round when paired with the Arccos Caddie app. When you buy five or more G425 irons you receive a free 90-day trial to the Arccos club tracking app.
