Cobra has officially announced its entry into the putter market with the Cobra King 3D Putter Series, its first complete line of 3D Printed multi-material putters. The range features a 3D Printed nylon lattice cartridge structure that optimises the weight distribution within the putter to deliver high MOI (Moment of Inertia) for enhanced stability and roll performance. This multi-year collaboration between Cobra and HP began with the LE SuperSport-35 putter. since then, Cobra engineers have worked closely with HP to transition from metal jet (Metal 3D printing) to Multi-jet (Nylon 3D Printing) the weight-saving benefits are massive, halving the mass of aluminium. The stunning and intricate 3D printed lattice would not be possible using traditional manufacturing methods. The lattice cartridge serves as a supporting structure to the body and dampens vibrations and fine-tune sound acoustics.
The Cobra King GrandSport -35 Oversize Blade putter features a popular plumber neck design with a 35 deg toe hang that will suit golfers with a slight arc stroke, which happens to be the majority of golfers. The Multi-layer construction features a 268gram steel chassis and a 21gram forged aluminium crown, and of course, the mind-blowing and super intricate 3D printed nylon cartridge. Nylon is roughly half the weight of aluminium, so enables the weight to be removed from the centre of the clubhead and re-positioned to the heel and toe areas for greater MOI and superior forgiveness. In addition to this, 30 grams of combined tungsten weights in the heel and toe further enhance perimeter weighting for greater stability on off-centre putts. The aluminium face insert again features the SIK face insert, this provides unmatched stability and roll consistency. This aluminium face insert creates significant weight savings over a solid steel face and provides that all-important feel and feedback on every putt rolled. SIK's signature face design cleverly uses 4 descending lofts, 4,3,2,1 degrees to ensure the most consistent Launch off the putter face for every style of individual putting stroke out there. The exciting partnership is born out of hard work from SIK golf and Cobra brand ambassador and US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, “ The scientist” who knows a thing or two about the scientific side of consistent putting, went on to say, “HP's metal jet technology is an incredibly advanced production method and very exacting, which is pretty critical in golf equipment. I think golfer's of all levels will benefit from the combination of Cobra's high MOI design and SIK's descending loft technology”
Other top features include a Tri-plane sole with centre relief for added stability and a single white sightline for improved alignment. The putter showcases Cobra's distinctive black and yellow name detailing which looks superb from every conceivable angle. The putter is equipped with a lightweight polyurethane Lamkin Sinkfit Connect grip with an embedded sensor that connects with the downloadable Arccos Caddie App. Golfers who use Arccos Caddie typically improve, on average, 3.6 strokes on their handicap in the first year. That's not to be sniffed at.
If you're serious about improving your putting, we are certain this would serve you admirably for many years to come. Give yourself the edge that matters.
