Ben Sayers: Ben Sayers as a Golfing Company is thought to be the oldest golf company in the world; they started life in 1873 at North Berwick Golf Club in a shed on the 18th Hole. From this shed, Ben started to receive a reputation as a top player and coach. Over the years Ben met Kings – Czars Dukes etc. In 1913 Ben Jnr joined his father has a player and Business partner playing many famous matches together and growing the business partnership. By 1934 the demand for the brand was growing so fast the Company had to move to larger premises and establish a new factory. They had now grown into a worldwide organisation, exporting to America, South Africa and Japan! By the middle of the 70s Ben played his final Open at the ripe old age of 67. 143 years since the first hickory shafted clubs were produced the Ben Sayers & Son Company is still riding high on the legacy built by a giant of the game and long may it continue to flourish.
