Cobra has introduced the highly anticipated Radspeed Iron range, their most technologically advanced irons to date. Earlier this year Cobra announced their partnership with HP and Parmatech and successfully became the first original equipment manufacturer to pioneer 3D printing in golf manufacturing with the launch of the stunning Cobra King Supersport-35 putter. Cobra selected HP as its partner to pioneer 3D printing in golf due to the major advantages their metal jet technology had over traditional methods and other 3D methods. Cobra designers were able to easily and quickly duplicate prototypes to bring the product to the market much quicker than traditional manufacturing techniques and methods. The two brands are now working together on a strategic multi-year product roadmap to design and manufacture future golf equipment that will raise performance and golfer satisfaction to new levels. This is just the first steps into what promises to be a significant change in future Cobra golf club production.
Cobra has always striven to provide high-performance golf products that exceed the expectations of golfers everywhere, no matter what level you play at. Enjoyment of the beautiful game is high on the agenda. To do that, it's absolutely crucial to use the most effective manufacturing processes available, to design, develop and attain optimal results, cobra has certainly done this with these superb Radspeed Irons. With its name inspired by the innovative technology used, Radial weighting. This range has used the full spectrum of technological advances in order to help you to play better golf. The design concept originates from the popular engineering formula called radius of gyration, the design of these irons are aimed at maximising performance through the strategic placement of weight relative to the centre of gravity to optimise speed and forgiveness. Cobra engineers soon discovered that by placing more mass low on the heel and toe, they could lower the centre of gravity while drastically improving the stability of the clubhead. 10 grams in the form of a screw-in weight is positioned in the toe and 3grams of mass is placed in the heel to produce the best combination of low centre of gravity and high moment of inertia for high ball speeds and high launch. The 10g screw is nominal weighting and used by Cobra to guarantee perfect head weighting in custom builds. During custom builds this weight may be adjusted from 4g to 16g to suit the individual. This weighting system delivers an iron set that is truly custom-built for the golfer's every need. Radial weighting is a critical component of the design that allows the Radspeed irons to maintain high launch and maximum carry despite the stronger loft.
The Radspeed irons feature a unique carbon fibre topline that saves 2grams to lower the centre of gravity and further improve launch and spin characteristics. The all-new black carbon fibre aesthetic creates the appearance of a thinner topline for a more compact and sleeker look at address. Cobra's patented PWRSHELL technology continues to offer incredible speed and higher launch even on the stronger lofted irons. The forged PWRSHELL insert in the Radspeed iron is made of a very high strength 17.4 stainless steel, allowing for a thinner and more flexible face design that increases ball speed around the sweet spot. The Radspeed Irons feature progressive head shapes, two-piece construction on 4-7irons and one-piece construction on 8-SW. V groove shapes for reduced spin in the long irons and U grooves for added spin in the short irons. And different hosel lengths are provided, shorter in the long irons and taller in the wedges, to optimize distance, launch characteristics and accuracy for each respective iron category, long irons, mid-irons and wedges.
These Radspeed irons are compatible with the Arccos system. This innovative system automatically records the distance and accuracy of every single shot the golfer hits for game improvement purposes. the award-winning smart golf system that helps all players of different abilities make smarter, data-driven decisions. Electronically enabled sensors are embedded into the grip, automatically recording the distance and accuracy of every single shot made. Golfers also have access to Arccos caddie, which utilises artificial intelligence to make better on-course decisions. With the purchase of any Cobra connect club, golfers at their request will be sent additional sensors to screw into the rest of their clubs, enabling the full benefits of Cobra Connect technology. Cobra has thought of everything in this new set of Radspeed irons and has left nothing behind. A very wise choice if you are in the market for a new set of irons that offer uncompromising performance to elevate your game to the next level.
