The new ST190 & ST190G drivers from Mizuno have finally arrived with us here at Golfsupport. These drivers have a lot of similar characteristics, other than the weighting system in the clubhead.
The ST190G offers a low spin driver option with adjustable weighting to suit any swing. There are two x 7g weights, one on each of 2 external tracks on the sole of the head. When both weights are situated towards the front of the face, the spin rate is lowered. Moving both weights on to the same track will promote either a fade or a draw bias depending on which track the weights are placed upon. This gives the club fabulous versatility.
The move forward in technology helps to push the boundaries. Mizuno have used this with their forged SP700TI face which is stronger than the traditional Titanium face. Their Carbon composite crown is lighter which allows the weight to be moved to other parts of the club. The amplified wave sole helps aerodynamically. All of these advances allow the clubhead to move faster which in turn increases ball speed giving greater distance. Spin rates are also lowered as a result. Mizuno have added ribs within the clubhead itself in order to give greater stability and a solid impact sound.
The ST190G is available in a 9-degree loft option although having said that, it is adjustable between lofts of 7 to 11 degrees. It is only available for the right-handed golfer. The club comes with a number of different shaft and grip options, which is included at no extra cost. It would be wise to arrange a fitting with us so that the driver is fitted to your exact specification.
