The new ST-Z Driver further deploys Mizuno's new Forged SAT2041 Beta Ti Face and complex carbon construction to provide the player with potent ball speeds and a dense, satisfying feeling at the point of impact. Working from feedback from the previous year, improvements have been made to the sound produced off the face. Mizuno's engineers have spent a whole year fine-tuning the sound to a more muted and powerful tone.
The Mizuno ST-Z Driver is a balanced toe/heel carbon composite construction with deep central back weighting to deliver a spin efficient, straight line bomber that is ultra-stable with low spin performance. With a year's extra experience and feedback, the Mizuno guru's were able to release a little extra ball speed and a much more satisfying experience off the clubface. The Z-Axis is designed for straight line flight, balanced use of carbon composite on the sole and deep central sole weight are biased towards a straight line flight with low spin efficiency. The wide, low footprint gives a neutral visual lie angle.
The clubface is made from the finest forged SAT 2041 Beta Titanium and is of variable thickness. This allows the face to flex at the point of impact, increasing ball speed and allowing the ball to travel further and higher to give you the increased distance and ball flight that you desire.
The new Multi-thickness CORTECH face is refined to maximise the return from the Beta Ti face. Shots hit low on the clubface are still rewarded with excellent distance and flight, this is also in part to the optimised wave sole plate which adds a significant contribution to ball speed, again strikes low on the face are surprisingly excellent.
The head of the driver has a variable thickness graphite crown and a compacted wave sole design which has saved weight. This has allowed the designers to add weight within the head to increase stability from non-centre strikes. As with the other drivers in the range, loft can be changed by up to 4º with quick switch adjustability to fine-tune trajectory and also to change the flight of the ball that suits you best. The stock shafts that have been chosen by Mizuno all optimise clubhead speed and launch angle through rigorous testing. The ST-Z is sure to be a winner in the hearts and minds of professionals and amateurs up and down the land.
