Cobra has introduced its highly anticipated 2021 range of Radspeed drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons, both traditional and one length versions. With its name inspired by the innovative technology used, Radial weighting. This range has used the full spectrum of technological advances in order to help you to play better golf. The design concept originates from the popular engineering formula called radius of gyration, which basically is the distance from the club's centre of gravity to each weight or technology location. Cobra's designers and engineers discovered that by increasing the radius of gyration and the distance between the front and back weights, they could achieve explosive speed, reduced spin and incredible forgiveness for the near-perfect driver experience. Using radial weighting, the weight is placed in the optimum position in each of the driver's models, thus creating three different but very distinctive performances.
While distance is always the number one goal and desire with golfer's, it comes in different forms, highlighted in Cobra's new range of drivers. The Radspeed ( This Model) that is for faster swingers who crave distance through faster ball speeds, low spin and stinging trajectory control. The Radspeed XB, who want distance through ball speeds but require consistency across the entire face in the form of forgiveness and stability, and the Radspeed XD, who require distance but whilst reducing slices or creating a draw.
The all-new Radspeed driver is designed with a gorgeous traditional 460cc shaped head and with forward-biased radial weighting to appeal to the better player who seeks low spin, low launch and high workability. The chassis features a 28gram weight positioned at the front, 16g of fixed weight and 12g of adjustable weight, and in addition to this, 10g at the rear, 8g fixed weight and 2g adjustable weighting to create the perfect balance of front and rear weighting for explosive speed and also tremendous stability, an engineering feat that has never been achieved until now! Using a thinner T-Bar Speed Chassis and a thinner carbon fibre wrapped crown, engineers were able to save weighting that they could reposition forward to lower the centre of gravity and produce more speed. Players can fine tune their launch and spin perfectly with both adjustable weights set in the desired positions and allowing you to compete with your peers once more!
A very notable feature of the new Radspeed driver is the CNC infinity milled face that requires around 25 minutes of milling for every clubface produced. Cobra's propitiatory CNC milling process is a very significant advancement over traditional hand polishing methods, and produce thickness and bulge, as well as roll tolerances that are up to five times more precise, thus providing the perfect curvature for forgiveness on off-centre strikes.
The entire Radspeed metalwood family is equipped with Cobra Connect, the award-winning smart golf system that helps all players of different abilities make smarter, data-driven decisions. Electronically enabled sensors are embedded into the grip, automatically recording the distance and accuracy of every single shot made.
