'The 2018 Open' is being hosted at the Carnoustie links for the eighth time. This spectacular course is situated on the east coast of Scotland just north of the city of Dundee.

Carnoustie first hosted this event in 1931 when Tommy Armour took the trophy back to America. Other winners include Henry Cotton in 1937, Ben Hogan in 1953, Gary Player in 1968 and Tom Watson in 1975, all of whom were top quality golfers.

Carnoustie or Carnastie, as it was nicknamed in 1999, is probably best remembered as the Jean Van de velde 'Open'. Van de velde just needed a double bogey 6 at the last to claim victory. However his now famous dice with the Barry burn resulted in a triple bogey 7 which lead to a 3 man play-off, won by Scotland's own Paul Lawrie.

2007 was the last occasion Carnoustie held the Open. This was won by Padraig Harrington in a play-off after Sergio Garcia bogeyed the last needing a 4 to win.

To mark this year's return to this famous golf course, TaylorMade have produced a limited edition commemorative 2018 Open custom staff bag. The bag is made from brushed/micro perforated synthetic leather. It shows a blue tartan, with the original design being inspired by the Clan Robertson tartan. Allan Robertson was the first course designer of Carnoustie around 1839 when it was a 10 hole course. The colour of the tartan has been removed with the Scottish flag colours added. It has a matching rain cover.

The bag has a 6-way top display which is wrapped in velour with a grab handle on both sides. It has a total of 12 pockets which include a balls pocket, tee pocket, velour lined valuables pockets, storage pockets and cooler pockets. It has storage for all the golf related gear a golfer could possibly need to take out on the course. The lining on the inside of the pockets show the 'fighting unicorn' symbol on a blue background. The Unicorn is the national animal of Scotland.

Should the golfer wish to carry the bag during their round, the bag has a 3 point padded strap that ensures that it is comfortable on the shoulder and is well balanced. The base of the bag is designed to sit on most trolleys.

All of the zip pulls, towel holder clip, carry strap clips and hardware on the bag are a brass/gold colour. The bag displays the TaylorMade name on a white background in several places and the TaylorMade logo appears on each of the zip pulls and studs.

For all lovers of the history of the game of golf, this top quality, limited edition bag is a must buy. Scotland was the birthplace of the game of golf and what better to have than this striking, elegant and patriotic bag.
