About Golfsupport
We are a family run business headed by Michelle Lines, the brains within finance and PGA Specialist Professional, John Lines with 25 years experience as a Golf Professional. Our team consists of 2 further PGA Professionals and 13 other staff members each with dedicated job roles and skills. Our site is backed up by an external web development team and we also outsource to 2 further companies for marketing strategies.
Each member of our team has a dedicated role and I cant tell you how proud I am of the commitment and enthusiasm my team show on a daily basis. I believe this separates us from the crowd of other online retailers and we hope you can also enjoy this should you choose to either visit our store or interact via telephone or email. Golfsupport has its Flagship Superstore based just outside Tetbury, Gloucestershire and is backed up alongside our warehouses which is the International distribution centre for our Internet operation. We also stock several local golf clubs .
Company History
Golfsupport is the one of the online trading names of Austen Group Limited. The original Golf Support Limited company, was established over a decade ago the site was developed initially by John Lines, PGA Advanced Professional and run from Buxton and High Peak Golf Club in Derbyshire. After 2 years here the site had grown in demand and a decision was made to open a new High Street outlet in his home town of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. The new store at this time undertook all Internet responsibilities whilst John maintained his roll as Head Professional for a further 12 months. As the site developed further a decision was made to both cease as Head Professional and also separate the Internet/High street business by acquiring a new 70,000 square feet warehouse alongside the store. As of 2023, we've now moved out of Mansfield and to Retford and have been acquired by Austen Group Ltd trading as Golf Support. With a Store, a warehouse and several Golf Clubs which we service for stock requirements. Our team has grown from 1 to 15 in this period with 3 further outsourced companies assisting in the ongoing developments of Golfsupport.
We have formed a very close working relationship with all of our manufacturers and we are very proud to be Authorised Online partners with all of them. This gives the comfort to all our customers of genuine products with appropriate manufacturer warranties.
Our Superstore boasts a state of the art Swing studio utilising the highest specification fitting equipment available from all of our manufacturing partners.
With the use of the market leading GC2 unit from Foresight Sports our dedicated PGA Professionals offer unbiased custom club fitting, Ball fitting, Gap testing and Tuition.
People will travel for professional unbiased fitting advice and we are again very proud to have welcomed many customers not just locally but from the many regions of the UK as well as some European travellers.
Our strategy is to continue to develop our growing Internet business to provide our new and loyal customers the best shopping experience within our sector.
